The designers' plant! A clump of dark green leaves from which strong upright
wiry stems carry small sprays of tiny purplish-blue flowers in later summer
throughout autumn. Loved by butterflies. Likes sun and a sheltered spot
in average to poor well-drained soil. Has a reputation for not being hardy
but has been growing in my garden a number of years without problems.
Leaves do not appear until very late spring. Height to 1.5 m. plus. Spread

cornuta 'Alba'
Small bright green heart-shaped leaves and creeping stems bearing many
pure white flowers. Excellent for a lightly shaded area where the flowers
really shine. Best undisturbed on average draining soils. Happiest in
light shade. Will tolerate some sun. Height 12cm spreading.
