Anthemis carpatica 'Carpathian Snow'

Low growing creeping silvergrey stems and deeply cut leaves. Large white floweres in early summer. Best in sun and free draining soil. Height 15cm.

Various varieties are offered during spring and early summer. All enjoy sun and average to light soil.

Arenaria montana 'Avalanche'
Lovely plant for sunny sites. Mounds of smallleaved foliage smothered in open white flowers. Good drainage preferred. Height 15cm, spread up to 30cm.


Armeria pseudoarmeria
Large thrift, strong grower with pom-pom flowers held to 60 cm. Various shades of pink. Well drained soil in sun. Height 60cm spread 40cm.

Pretty lobed leaves and a pincushion flower. White flushed wine red. Enjoys moisture retaining soil in sun or partshade. Height 70cm. Spread 50cm.

Dianthus x allwoodii - Fragrant village pinks
Scented oldfashioned pinks with a long flowering period. Best in sun and poor welldrained soil. Cut back hard after flowering to maintain compact plants. Height to 45 cm.

Unusual pink with fine foliage and small intense pink flowers on thin stems which daintily catch the breeze. Likes sun and well drained soil. Height to 30cm spread 20cm.

Dicentra formosa
Pretty ferny foliage and heart shaped flowers. Running rootstock allows this charming plant to wander. Likes semishade and reasonably fertile soil. Height to 25cm.


Digitalis ferruginea - Rusty foxglove
Enjoying moisture retaining soil, this foxglove produces a rosette of glossy darkgreen leaves and, in its second year, a tall sturdy spike of rusty yellow flowers. Usually biennial, sometimes a shortlived perennial, it often selfseeds true. Tolerates sun, prefers partshade. Height to 1.5m.

Dodecatheon meadia - Shooting Star
Clump forming plant with oval leaves and strong stems carrying clusters of flowers with reflexed petals. Likes sun or partshade and dry soil in summer. Will become dormant after flowering. Height to 25cm.


Doronicum caucasicum
Mound forming plant with heartshaped glossy leaves and many yellow daisy flowers in spring. Prefers shade and moistureretaining soil. Height to 45cm spread to 30cm.


Doronicum pardalianches - Leopard's bane
Not the usual form, this species carries longlasting yellow daisies on tall stems throughout the summer. Forming gently creeping mounds of soft foliage, it enjoys partshade in rich, freedraining soils. Height 1m. Spreading, but not aggressively!

Charming daisy with white flowers ageing pink on long stems. Likes sun and poor soil in sheltered site. May well self seed. Height and spread 20cm.

Pretty, ferny leaves of deep green and clusters of open deep pink flowers throughout summer. Enjoys sun and rich, welldrained soil. Height to 45cm. Spread 60cm.

Erodium pelargoniiflorum
Soft mounds of scalloped leaves and clusters of open white, blotched red, flowers throughout summer. Needs sun and poor welldrained soil in a reasonably sheltered site. When happy will self seed. Height to 30cm. Spread 40cm.

Eryngium agavifolium - Sea holly
Evergreen rosette of sharply pointed straplike leaves, edged with fine spines, of a bright green. Produces tall, sturdy stems carrying greenish thistlelike flowers. Needs sun and a sheltered, welldrained site. Protect from extreme cold and wet. Position carefully due to spines. Height 1.5m. Spread 60cm.
